Medical sociologist, psychologist

Nkululeko Nkomo

I am a senior lecturer in the department of psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) in Johannesburg. Before joining WITS in 2008, I was a senior researcher in the Social Aspects of HIV/AIDS and Health division of the Human Sciences Research Council. My area of research is in the politics of knowledge in health and biomedicine, with the aim of bridging normative concerns and reasoning about social justice and transformation with relevant socio-medical related research in human health. I incorporate a global sociological perspective in my research.

In the DFG network my hope is to advance my growing research in the public humanities and critical psychology through collaborative research projects.
